Relevance of the Humanities & Social Sciences in the 21st Century (2012-13)

In the 2012-13 academic year, the Dept. of Religious Studies hosted a lecture series centering around a common theme: the relevance of the humanities in the modern university. Below is an excerpt from the flier advertising the lecture series:

What can the research and pedagogy of experts in the Humanities and Social Sciences contribute to society and their institutions? While the necessity of the Natural Sciences is cast as self-evident in public discourse, the Humanities and Social Sciences make significant contributions. Unfortunately, as the initial lecture in the series was our first time recording public lectures, we had a few technical errors which prevented us from being able to publish the recording of the 1st lecture.
